Ambito de actuación: Cuenca Hidrográfica del Segura
Total de inversión: 271,200,000 €

Description of worksState: Works in service

The purpose of this initiative is to supplement the volumes corresponding to the Tajo-Segura transfer for supply and irrigation that, may not be transferred due to the scarcity of resources in the headwaters of the Tajo, or at least reduce, the deficit of application of the irrigated areas dependent on the transfer, by an additional contribution of resources from desalination. The desalination plant under implementation, located in Torrevieja, has a production capacity of 240,000 m3/day, ie 80 hm3/year while the civil works associated with it, ie, catchment and transport of sea water, reject water discharge pipeline and water product distribution network, are dimensioned and are being built to produce 120 hm3 per year.
