Cerro Blanco pipeline to the water treatment plant of El Atabal

To improve the current high level supply network in the city of Málaga, which currently runs through a system of open channeling together with the irrigation, a water catchment is made use of in the Azud de Aljaima, in the channel of the river Guadalhorce, remodeling existing pumping facilities, and a 21 kilometer pipeline from the catchment to the desalination plant of El Atabal.

The action involves the construction of pipelines connecting the major deposits of the GALASA supply network with the main pipeline executed in the previous two sub-actions. In this way the objective of ensuring supply and joint management is achieved, since each of the deposits will be supplied from the water treatment plant of Cuevas de Almanzora and from the pipeline that comes from the Carboneras desalination plant.

The regions of Solsonés, Bages and Anoia, located in the provinces of Barcelona and Lleida, in the geographic centre of Catalonia, experience great problems of supply, especially made up from the lack of guarantee of service, with many failures in the provision of water during periods of drought, and a certain insecurity about the water quality that is supplied to homes. This action is intended to supply water to the region of Solsonés and Bages from the reservoir of the Llosa del Cavall by a 52.3 km long pipeline, and several pumping stations.

Talave-Cenajo pipeline

The purpose of the action is to facilitate the contribution to Cenajo reservoir of supply volumes from the Tajo-Segura transfer, as well as flows from the floods of the high basin of the river Mundo. A tunnel has been built for this that is 7513.67 m long and 3.50 m inside diameter, for the conveyance of water from the Talave reservoir to the end of the Cenajo reservoir.

In the Ebro Delta there are large areas aimed at the production of rice with high water consumption. When water is no longer needed in the rice fields, much of the flow from the concession of the channels of the Right and the Left of the river Ebro river is discharged back to the river, not entering the delta system and therefore not reaching the bays at one of the most critical times of the year from the point of view of the need of fresh water. The purpose of this action is to allow the input of fresh water from irrigation canals directly to the bays.

Dredging of canals and "provideros" that link the coastal lagoons with the bays (Tarragona)

The coastal lagoons of the Delta have a number of direct connections with the sea, called "provideros", which facilitate the exchange of water masses between the two environments. The salt balance of the lagoons is maintained primarily by freshwater input from freshwater that comes from irrigation, so without these contributions there would be a rapid increase in salinity due to the entry of sea water, evaporation and stagnation in the water due to the absence of exchange.

Hellí­n WWTP and Deposits and complementary facilities for water supply to Hellín

The original WTP of "La Losilla" in Hellín had outdated technology and limited processing capacity. With this action, the reliability and security of supply, and quality of water supplied to the town of Hellín is improved. A WWTP has been built in order to treat a flow rate of 850 m3 / h together with the original plant

The work is completed and delivered to the Town Council of Hellín for its operation in February 2010.

Almanzora -West Almería Link Phase I

The resources generated through desalination are incorporated into Almanzora-West Almería pipeline 1st Phase in the header pool of Venta del Pobre, through a drive that lifts water from the desalination plant in Carboneras. This action provides the infrastructure network that distributes resources for irrigation from the Carboneras desalination plant in Campo de Níjar.

STATE OF THE ACTION:
The plant entered into service in August 2005.

Conexión Almanzora-Poniente Almeriense Fase I

Los recursos generados por medio de la desalación son incorporados a la conducción Almanzora Poniente Almeriense Fase 1ª en las balsa de cabecera de Venta del Pobre, por medio de una impulsión que eleva el agua desde la desaladora de Carboneras. Esta actuación contempla la red de infraestructuras que distribuye los recursos para riego de la desaladora de Carboneras en el Campo de Níjar.

ESTADO DE LA ACTUACIÓN:
La conexión entro en servicio en agosto de 2005.
