Esta obra forma parte de la Modernización de regadíos de la Real Acequia de Escalona y tiene como objeto el ahorro de recursos como consecuencia del aumento de las eficiencias en el uso el agua y la mejora de la calidad de las masas de agua como consecuencia de una menor aplicación de fertilizantes al cambiar el método de aplicación del agua en parcela y pasar a sistemas de riego tecnificado y la reducción de las necesidades de herbicidas.

The main objective for this initiative is to generate water resources both for urban and agricultural purposes thanks to the construction of this plant with a production capacity of 30 hm3/year.

The works are concentrated in the town of Gandia within the boundaries of the so called "Protected Landscape of the Serpis". There will be different actions such as protective walls, creating a channel for low water, actions on the old bridge of Oliva, pumping water for recycling and cleaning and revegetation treatments as well as conditioning of paths, all of which are being studied.

STATE OF THE ACTION:

Works that have been met and received.

The purpose pursued by the action is to increase the level of protection against floods in the middle basin of the river Serpis. To achieve this the construction of a dam in the town of Terrateig is being studied, together with building defences against erosion and flooding in various parts of the whole basin and diverting part of the flow from the Barranco de Piles to the river Serpis, all complemented with environmental mitigation measures associated with the works included in the action.

The purpose of the action is the protection against floods in the basin of the rambla Gallinera and Alfadalí ravine, carrying out the provisions of the Director Plan of Defence against Floods in the region of La Safor.

The action aims to reduce inputs of organic matter and inorganic nutrients currently discharged to Lake Albufera of Valencia. These inputs originate as a result of discharges of stormwater from the western collector located in the northwest of Albufera and from the pollution that the irrigation infrastructure receives as it passes through the towns, and whose surpluses reach Albufera.

This activity has a dual purpose. On the one hand, it aims to achieve an efficient reuse of effluent from the waste water treatment plant of Albufera Sur for irrigation, and secondly, to improve the quantity and quality of water contributions to Lake Albufera. To achieve this goal a tertiary treatment is implemented at the plant and a green filter that improves the quality of effluents intended for lake Albufera.

STATE OF THE ACTION:

The work is in progress.

The aim of this action is to provide new water resources from the reuse of effluent from the water treatment plant of Pinedo for its use in irrigation of agricultural crops and as additional water to the Albufera of Valencia, with appropriate quality for each use. The action consists of a pipeline infrastructure that enables connection from waste water treatment plant to the irrigation areas, and a green filter for the reduction of nutrients, with their associated pipeline, for renaturalisation of the waters that cannot be used in irrigation and supply them to the Albufera.

The action involves extending the distribution network of Valdelentico at around the end of Section III to connect the branch of Section III to the distribution network of Valdelentico, with the Cañarico area in the town of Alhama in Murcia.

The works included in this action correspond to regulation and distribution works needed to supply the towns of San Juan, Alicante and San Vicente de Raspeig with desalinated water from the desalination plant of Mutxamell. The construction of three regulation tanks have been planned for this with storage capacity for 33,000 m3, 4 drives and 17 km of pipelines.
