Reinforcement project for the supply networks of the municipalities of Mutxamel and Campello

The infrastructures included in this action include regulation and distribution works needed to supply drinking water from new desalination plant of Mutxamel to the towns of Campello and Mutxamell (Alicante) and connect the system with the Rabasa-Amadorio pipeline which currently is in operation (See the data sheet of the action Rabasa-Fenollar-Amadorio pipeline). The works included in this action can be summarised in the construction of 3 tanks with a total volume of 16,000 m3, 4 pumping stations and 26 km of pipelines.

Desalination plant of Sagunto, Valencia

The purpose of the action is to cover part of the water deficit that is expected in the short to medium term as a result of population growth and industrial expansion, of the town of Sagunto and the rest of the district of Camp de Morvedre. To achieve this goal a new desalination plant has been designed with a production capacity of 22,900 m3/day, which is used for domestic and industrial use. The plant is located next to the new combined cycle power plant of the company Unión Fenosa Generación in the port of Sagunto.

The project involves construction of a pipeline that will feed desalinated water from Águilas desalination plant to the Irrigation Communities of Puerto Lumbreras and Lorca, established along the Valle del Alto Guadalentín. The source of the pipeline is established in the Cerro Colorado reservoir, which forms part of the actions of the Águilas/Guadalentín desalination plant.

Distribution to the irrigation community of Puerto Lumbreras

This purpose of this action is aimed at the link between the distribution network of the Águilas desalination plant and the irrigation network of the Irrigation Community of Puerto Lumbreras, in order to properly manage the new water resources granted.

As a solution for this link, the construction of a reservoir with a 40,000m3 intake capacity is planned, where the water will pour from Cerro Colorado using gravity, and from this reservoir an impulse to take it towards Peñas Blancas, to the existing reservoirs of the Irrigation Community.

Linking the deposits from Eastern Almerí­a with the pipeline of the Carboneras desalination plant to the Almanzora Valley (Almerí­a)

The action involves the construction of pipelines connecting the major deposits of the GALASA supply network with the main pipeline executed in the previous two sub-actions. In this way the objective of ensuring supply and joint management is achieved, since each of the deposits will be supplied from the water treatment plant of Cuevas de Almanzora and from the pipeline that comes from the Carboneras desalination plant.

The action involves the execution of a seawater desalination plant using reverse osmosis in the town of Cabanes together with its corresponding distribution pipes. The goal of this infrastructure is to meet the increased demand that will occur in Oropesa, Cabanes and Benicassim in the short and medium term. For this will it has a production capacity of 65,000 m3/day in the first phase, extendible to 130,000 m3/day in a second phase.

Moncófar osmosis plant and improvement of the management of the brackish waters in the southern region of La Plana

The action involves the execution of a seawater desalination plant using reverse osmosis, as well as its corresponding distribution pipes to meet current demand and future growth in the short to medium term, in the southern sector of Plana Baja de Castellón. The facility's capacity is 30,000 m3/day in the first phase, extendible to 60,000 m3/day in a second phase.

Elimination of chemical contamination from the Flix reservoir 1st stage

Flix Reservoir retains a lot of sludge in its basin that originated from historical discharges from the chemical activity and changes in the fluvial dynamics of the river through the construction of the Mequinensa, Ribarroja and Flix dams. The main objective of the action is to reduce the inherent risk in the accumulation of contaminated waste in the Flix reservoir by its disposal. For this planning has been carried out to extract, process, transport and dispose the waste accumulated in the basin into a controlled deposit.

Supply of Llosa del Cavall. Section of Calaf to Igualada (Barcelona)

The regions of Solsonés, Bages and Anoia, located in the provinces of Barcelona and Lleida, in the geographic centre of Catalonia, experience great problems of supply, especially made up from the lack of guarantee of service, with many failures in the provision of water during periods of drought, and a certain insecurity about the water quality that is supplied to homes. This action is intended to supply water to the region of Solsonés and Bages from the reservoir of the Llosa del Cavall by a 52.3 km long pipeline, and several pumping stations.
