Carboneras desalination plant

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The infrastructure consists of a desalination plant for seawater with treatment capacity of 120,000 m3/day, and a pipeline to supply water to the town of Carboneras and Agua Amarga (Pedanía Nijar). Guaranteed resources are generated with the action for the supply and to East Almería and for irrigation to Campo de Nijar. These resources are then distributed with the infrastructures included in the proceedings "1.2.c Interconnection Carboneras- Almanzora" and "6.2.c Connection Almanzora -West Almería Phase I".

STATE OF THE ACTION:

INSTALACIONES:

Mijas and Manilva tertiary WWTPs

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The aim of the action is to incorporate the waste water treatment plants of Cala Mijas and Manilva to the tertiary treatments needed to regenerate the purified water, so that water quality being supplied to the golf courses and green areas is improved. The action provides for the distribution of reclaimed water to the golf courses in line with Article 4 of Decree 240/2005 of 2 November, of the Junta de Andalucía, which governs the exceptional measures during drought in various municipalities in Málaga, including those of the western Costa del Sol.

INSTALACIONES:

Estepona and Marbella tertiary WWTPs

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The purpose of the action involves the upgrading of existing treatment systems in purification plants of Estepona and Marbella, to obtain a quality product that allows water reuse for irrigation of golf courses

INSTALACIONES:

The Atabal (Málaga) desalination plant

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The use of resources of the Guadalhorce reservoirs and underground aquifer, by the Town Council of Málaga, is limited by the lack of water quality. With this action the issue of quality is achieved by the desalination plant and the adequacy of existing facilities. A desalination plant was built for brackish water with reverse osmosis technology and production capacity of 165,000 m3/day was built in order to make full use of the resources. These facilities are located in the vicinity of El Atabal WWTP thus being able to take advantage of existing infrastructures.

INSTALACIONES:

Talave-Cenajo pipeline

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The purpose of the action is to facilitate the contribution to Cenajo reservoir of supply volumes from the Tajo-Segura transfer, as well as flows from the floods of the high basin of the river Mundo. A tunnel has been built for this that is 7513.67 m long and 3.50 m inside diameter, for the conveyance of water from the Talave reservoir to the end of the Cenajo reservoir.

INSTALACIONES:

Valdelentisco desalination plant

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

Desalination plant with production capacity for 48 hm3/year (11 reverse osmosis racks) extendible to 70 hm3/year, allowing supply of part of the region of Murcia through the Association of the Canales del Taibilla and the urban supply and irrigation for tourist-residential uses in the Campo de Cartagena through an extensive distribution network that runs from the distribution network from the plant to the towns of Alhama, Fuente Álamo and Murcia.

STATE OF THE ACTION:
The plant entered into service in June 2009.

INSTALACIONES:

Reuse of waste water in the Western Costa del Sol (Málaga). Reuse of waste waters of the Arroyo de la Miel WWTP

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The purpose of this action is to run a distribution network that allows reclaimed waste water from the Arroyo de la Miel WWTP (Benalmádena) to be used for irrigation of different golf courses and public gardens located in the municipality of Benalmádena (Málaga).

Remodeling and commissioning of the Marbella desalination plant

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

With this initiative the Marbella desalination plant starts operating with an annual water production capacity of 20 hm3. The acquisition of this desalination plant allows its production to be integrated into the management of surface and groundwater resources of the entire area, with a positive induced impact on the security of supply to Málaga capital. The Marbella desalination plant, with an annual production capacity of 20 hm3, was acquired by Acuamed from the Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol, and its public company Acosol, in 2006.

INSTALACIONES:

Almanzora -West Almería Link Phase I

Descripción de las obrasEstado:

The resources generated through desalination are incorporated into Almanzora-West Almería pipeline 1st Phase in the header pool of Venta del Pobre, through a drive that lifts water from the desalination plant in Carboneras. This action provides the infrastructure network that distributes resources for irrigation from the Carboneras desalination plant in Campo de Níjar.

STATE OF THE ACTION:
The plant entered into service in August 2005.
